i got issue with writing anything on the server (updating plugins and themes, creating pages etc.)

Downloading update from https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/instawp-connect.0.1.0.66.zip…

Warning: unlink(dirname(__FILE__).'/wp-content/uploads/instawp-connect.0.1.0.66-nUEEhJ.tmp): No such file or directory in /home/srv32238/domains/listkijemy.pl/public_html/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 1182

An error occurred while updating InstaWP Connect: Download failed. Destination directory for file streaming does not exist or is not writable.

Which was caused by this line in wp-config.php

define('WP_TEMP_DIR', WP_CONTENT_DIR . '/uploads');

so i commented it out.

Everything is fine rn, so i guess i am leaving this informations for others

    Hello anon - Welcome to the WordPress Development community! In order to function well, the Stack Exchange necessitates that posts adhere to the Q&A format. You can totally post information which you believe would be useful to others, but you should do so by phrasing the problem as a question in a Question post, and providing the solution in an Answer post. You might take a moment to read through some of the content in our help center, then edit this question to remove the answer.

  • Just as an aside (and something you might consider including in your answer), while the problem may be solved by removing a custom temp directory definition as you suggest, the root cause is as described by the error message: the specified directory either does not exist, or whatever OS user which WordPress is executing under does not have sufficient access to that directory in order to write to it. A more canonical solution may be to ensure that the directory exists and that it has proper ownership and permission attributes.
