I have always loved Tech. From my first experience of using Windows 98 I was fascinated how 0s and 1s could render this amazing experience and just how limitless the possibilities were. I was always digging deeper into technology, from my subscriptions to NAG magazine, PC World magazine and my early brief introduction to the internet from my Dial Up internet.
When I had saved up enough money to buy my Playstation 2 in December 2003 the first thing that hit me was 'How is this powered ?!' here is when I learned what software optimization can do and how it was not always about the raw hardware power.
As time went by I picked up jailbreaking, rooting and computer services to make some side income which I did through my schooling career. Upon completion of my schooling life took an unexpected turn and I had to pick general work.
Being computerless for a few years before I had enough money to purchase a basic i5, getting back on the internet I saw how easy it was to gain knowledge and I took up this opportunity to learn what I knew I was destined to be... a rockstar geek (oxymoron much). I learned HTML,CSS and some JavaScript from CodeAcademy, after which I started making websites for individuals for an income , though I quickly realised how using Bootstrap templates or Responsive templates immensely sped up my production time and I was able to deliver work at a quicker rate.
In 2019 I beat out my more experienced competition to become the sole member of the Johannesburg HyperionDev campus. Here I had to teach a variety of languages to students who came with sometimes no knowledge of even basic computer usage. I taught part time, online and full time students solely and apart from that I had to ensure catering was discussed , picked up, dropped off and operations at the campus such as moving and more. This role also put me in a sales situation as I had to quickly switch focus from programming to sales to new walk ins.
With 2020 I had re-entered freelance and mentoring one on one, though with COVID-19 brining disaster to the economic state it has slowed my work and thus I'm eager to enter a working role once more. My personality and wide scope knowledge allow me to interact easily with teams , clients and whoever else.
