I have a degree in ME but towards the end of college decided it wasn't for me and went a different way upon graduation and started working for a small business to essentially develop the "Eccommerce Division" so we can grow. I don't have a proper education in coding but always enjoyed it and pick it up quite easily. I did take MatLab (C++ based) in college and was really good at it and TA'd it for 2 semesters as well. I have always loved computers and enjoy all sorts of tweaking and learning how to improve and automate things. I should have gone into CE or CS, but like most highschoolers of course I didn't know what I wanted and decided to just follow in my dad's footprints. The website I am working on is much more than any template where you use buttons and options to configure and setup, it is very much customized with plans to add a lot more features along the way. The owner of the business and I have a goal to eventually rival other large online competitors. I started with a template on wordpress but quickly deviated from that and have modified and written my own custom PHP files and CSS data. I have a basic understanding of HTML coding. I have now gotten fairly in depth into SQL and FileMaker which is based off of C++ as a result of starting the integration project to manage the website from FileMaker. I am currently and will probably remain the sole developer for our website and plan to keep updating and improve it in the future. I'm still fairly new to all this but I'm learning quickly.
