I started my development career writing Windows apps in the early 1990s; I was a C++ and OOP fanatic. I worked on shrink-wrapped and vertical market products and eventually settled down to consulting. From 2003 to 2013, I ran a consulting company focused on serving small businesses and startups. I spent the next several years at Practice Fusion, where I learned about web-scale engineering and working with a larger engineering team. Next, I moved to Horoscope.com, Inc. where I led an overhaul of the infrastructure and engineering culture. After another round of consulting with Verys, a West Monroe Company, I became a founding member of the engineering team at Charlie Health.
