How to properly escape values in meta query
The problem is that you've interpreted wpdb::esc_like as a literal copy paste, and not a direction, and used it as a static function, when it is not a static function.
Good:
global $wpdb;
$foo = $wpdb-...

Why isn't my `meta_query` array functioning properly?

WP_Query multiple value not working
This is waaaay after the fact, but maybe it'll help someone else. You're looking for an IN comparison here - where the value is IN a group of values.
Here's what it'd look like:
$args['meta_query'][] =...
