Not all errors one encounters while working with WordPress are actually caused by WP. When asking about errors be as specific as possible. Just telling which error you get, is usually not enough to help you tracking it down.

Not all errors one encounters while working with WordPress are actually caused by WP. When asking about errors be as specific as possible. Just telling which error you get, is usually not enough to help you tracking it down.

A simple checklist before asking about errors:

  • Is the error still there in a different browser?
  • Is the error still there when you clear your cache?
  • Is the error still there when you deactivate all plugins (and then activate them one by one)?
  • If the error occurs in a WP core file, can you pinpoint the place in your own code that triggers it?
