I tried to install Wordpress using wamp as localhost, but I got the following error all the time: Error establishing a database connection

I tried to use many solutions but they didn't really help. I tried changing the privileges mostly because most of the tutorials suggested that.

Any other solutions?

  • I assume you've checked those three bullets, i.e. you can log into your database in MySQL Workbench or similar using the credentials straight out of wp-config? Is there anything in the username or password that might be interpreted as an escape character in PHP - can you try something simpler? And if you haven't already please check your Apache error log in case there's more detail there. – Rup Jun 17 '20 at 10:37
