It's my understanding that a static homepage shouldn't have pagination by default. But our homepage below does have pages:

https://www.hurleyburley.com/page/2/

Here's the settings:

Pages still show using a default theme.

Does anyone understand why this is occurring?

Shouldn't https://www.hurleyburley.com/page/2/ return a 404 page?

  • No, it shouldn't because that's a valid paginated request URL. And WordPress doesn't disable such URLs regardless of the homepage display settings. – Sally CJ Aug 15 at 7:43
