Using WordPress' default post type, I'd like everything to be filed under /blog/. For example:

/blog/[parent category]/[child category]/[post permalink]/

Here's an example post:

  • Parent category: Hello
  • Child category: Goodbye
  • Post permalink: bla-post-123
  • Single post URL: /blog/hello/goodbye/bla-post-123/
  • Result: 404

Currently, the display of posts, display of categories, and category pagination all work. Viewing the actual single post - regardless of category - displays a 404.

Here's how Settings -> Permalinks is configured:

  • Common settings: Custom Structure (/blog/%category%/%postname%/)
  • Optional: Category base: blog

The URL scheme is displaying how I'd like, however, so I don't know what to try...
