I've installed WordPress and Woocommerce on a local machine in my lab.

When I try to run the wizard I am taken to a page that is featureless except for the message: "Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page"

The WordPress directory and contents are owned by the owner of the server process (www-data on apache on ubuntu).

All files are set to 664 and directories to 775.

I have no other known problems accessing admin screens.

What could be happening here? How do I run get the wizard to run?

  • Can you log out of the WordPress admin, then log back in and try again with the wizard? Can you also try on a different browser? – Alexander Holsgrove Apr 27 at 17:01
