I'm aware this issue has many question threads but none have been able to fix my specific problem! I've got a apparently common issue - whenever I try and adjust my ugly URLS to nice clean custom permalinks (going for sitename.com/category/postname) my site breaks down into a flurry of 404 errors everywhere but on the homepage. I'm prompted by wordpress to remove write access to my web.config.

I've tried a host of different "fixes", messing with my web.config code and .htaccess code. None have yet to solve my issue. Going back to the default permalinks structure will put my site back in order, but I've got to get these links fixed!

Here's my web.config code, I'm hoping somebody with a trained eye can point out what's causing all the fuss. Thanks in advance for the help:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<configuration>
  <system.webServer>
<rewrite>
      <rules>
    <rule name="WordPress: http://lunahphotography.com" patternSyntax="Wildcard">
            <match url="*"/>
                <conditions>
                    <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsFile" negate="true"/>
                    <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchType="IsDirectory" negate="true"/>
                </conditions>
            <action type="Rewrite" url="index.php"/>
        </rule>
  </rules>
</rewrite>
