I'm trying to add a new column to the Custom Post Type I've created. I've also created a custom taxonomy for this CPT, so what I'm wanting to do is display which taxonomy term each post has assigned (it will only be one). I also want this column to be sortable.

I'm using ACF Pro in order to allow the user to create posts from the front-end, and there is a selector that only allows them to choose from "categories"/"taxonomies" already created for that post type.

I have not found any sample code yet to help me towards this.

  • Are you creating this taxonomy via code or with a plugin? When registering the taxonomy there's a show_admin_column parameter you can turn on. – Howdy_McGee Jul 21 '16 at 1:32
  • Via code. Hmmm...I'm wondering if I may have to redirect the question to ACF directly. The selector is populating properly with the taxonomy and saving to the custom post, but it's not really assigning the taxonomy term. I wish I knew how to explain this better. The meta box for the categories appears within the custom post type, but the ACF selector box is separate. – Laura Sage Jul 21 '16 at 1:45
  • I believe the ACF taxonomy field has an option for whether or not it syncs the term relationships. – Milo Jul 21 '16 at 3:27
