I already have a website @ www.mysite.com. I'm thinking of converting it to WordPress. At the same time, I'd like to launch a WordPress blog on a subdomain: blog.mysite.com.

I've read that this can't be done; you need a separate WordPress installation on a subdomain. However, the posts I read were a few years old, so I thought I'd check to see if that's still true.

I'm aware of the multi-site installation option, but that seems a little complex. I just wondered if there's a simple way of installing WordPress on a domain, then somehow setting up a blog on a subdomain.

Folder domain it's different from folder sub domain. So, You have install to folder domain first and then to your sub domain or your blog.

  • I'll watch the video in a few minutes, but it sounds like you're saying I need to make TWO installations - one to my main site and the second to my subdomain. If that's the case, I wonder if it's possible to set up the installation on the main site so that titles of blog posts from the subdomain show up in the main site's sidebar. I should probably post that as a separate question. – David Blomstrom May 31 '16 at 23:05
