this weird thing has happened to me: I tried to login to one of my WP sites and it said:

This site can’t be reached
The connection was reset.

The URL was: ...%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

My issue si really similar to this one (discussed here before): Unable to login to my wordpress site. reauth=1 redirection loop. Any ideas on how to fix this?

However, I cannot login to any WP page - I tried couple of my other pages and then even some completely different, where pretty sure they are set up correctly (they are quite big and have been working for long time).

I can understand how this happens on the first site, but how is it possible that it effects all other WordPress sites as well?

Aby ideas how is this possible and how to fix it and prevent it from happening again?

Thanks a lot :)

  • Just a verification: Have you checked .htaccess files (in the root of your hosting and inside your wordpress folders), your wp-config.php and then in your database within options table: for siteurl and home urls values? It looks like an hosting issue to me… – LoicTheAztec Apr 11 '16 at 0:40

It should be a browser problem (as it is happening to all sites)

  • Check if your browser is allowing cookies.
  • try to login from another browser/computer.
  • Hey, thank you for you're response. Unfortunately I have already tried that. Even when I'm connecting from different device from different network: When I go to the (probably) infected site first it doesn't let me login (same error) and then the same thing happens on all other sites the same way as it does on my laptop. It is really weird... – Tony Vlcek Apr 10 '16 at 20:08
  • If all these sites are hosted on same server? – Deepak jha Apr 10 '16 at 20:13
  • I tried different sites where I'm 100% sure that they are hosted on different servers. – Tony Vlcek Apr 10 '16 at 20:15
  • are you saying that when you visit that infected site, only after that you cannot login to any other site? – Deepak jha Apr 10 '16 at 20:40
