so i'm trying about 2 3 with this and i can't managed to make it work. I have this theme : Aruna and he has front end post and when i'm posting a image i need to write title and upload a image from my computer , you can see on images: enter image description here

ok after i done this , he put the image that i upload into one custom field by theme: enter image description here

The trick is when i want to upload a image from front end i wanna put it automatically on Featured image. If i use User submited post plugin and i post from him it works .. but i wanna modifiy on my own front end. It's important for me to make this work because i share a lot on facebook and other social media and feature image do the thing :) I don't know what code to put here but i try to show you : Functions.php

  • Your code appears to download a file from a URL and attach it, but your form contains a file upload input, it doesn't make a lot of sense, you need to reverse course and find out how a frontend upload works, as you've put a frontend uploader in your template, then hooked it up to a remote image downloader rather than handling the upload – Tom J Nowell Mar 6 '16 at 18:49
  • well the front end was with external link and upload file and i remove the external link and leave just to upload. this html : <input type="file" name="image_imagepost" /> upload file and this is the code for him --- textuploader.com/5vphb – I.Alex Mar 6 '16 at 18:56
  • File inputs are handled differently to text inputs, this is an XY question, your actual problem is "How do I implement a file uploader in WordPress?" , and you should make that clear in your question – Tom J Nowell Mar 6 '16 at 19:00
  • Also, this isn't a forum thread, any replies should be comments, not answers – Tom J Nowell Mar 6 '16 at 19:01

After

add_post_meta($post_id, '_standard_image', trailingslashit($uploaddir['url']) . $filename);

paste

set_post_thumbnail($post_id, $attach_id);

What this is doing is taking the attachment that is created in this function and adding it as a featured image.

Hope that helps.
