I'm getting an Error 500. I tried to replace with old .htaccess file, but Wp don't let me log in because I have offline mode. How can I set the WordPress URL back?

  • What makes you think, a changed URL is the reason? Setting is back can be done via direct access to your database for example. – flomei Dec 16 '15 at 14:36
  • So now for login I should type www.sitename.com/thisthingadded/wp-login.php But of course I cant log in. But I need to set it back, I want to loginin only by www.sitename.com/wp-login.php – Vlad Dec 16 '15 at 14:39
  • Then have a look at your wp_options-table where the two URLs are saved. – flomei Dec 16 '15 at 14:41
  • Try to show the contents of your .htaccess file – Adeel Dec 16 '15 at 14:49

Vlad has reported that the problem has been solved in his original question:

Add these two lines to your wp-config.php, where example.com is the correct location of your site.

define('WP_HOME','http://example.com');
define('WP_SITEURL','http://example.com');
