I spent way too long trying to figure this out and finally found it, so posting here. If you want the large square player, you can simply paste the Soundcloud URL on a separate line - like Rarst says. For example:
https://soundcloud.com/user-426955691/episode-1-about-the-chat
Embedding the smaller player is trickier, and I couldn't find a concise answer.
First, from Souncloud:
- Click the Share link on the post.
- Click the embed tab on the popup
Highlight the smaller player to see the small player embed code. It will look like this.
WordPress will not let you drop the <iframe>
into the editor. It seems to be for a security reason. I downloaded a plugin called iframe. With this plugin, you can add an <iframe>
tag to the content. Simply change < and > characters in the <iframe>
tag to brackets, [ ], e.g. [iframe]
.
Once you activate the iframe plugin. So simply drop this code into the page edit screen in WordPress.
[iframe width="100%" height="166" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/304567138&color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false"][/iframe]
api.soundlcoud.com
