Why is it so difficult to see Where in the backend can I get information about the current WordPress version of wordpress you areI am using when there is an update available?

This has been bothering me for quite some time, inIn the dashboard backend admin area, I only see Update to Wordpress (Latest Version)Update to Wordpress <Latest Version> in the updates section, and at the bottom, is the Get Version (Latest Version)Get Version <Latest Version> link, but no wherenowhere does it tell me what version of Wordpress I am using in the backend anywhere, before deciding to update to the latest version. Can WE PLEASE somehow determine what version we are updating from somewhere in the backend easily?? This is not Rocket Science, I shouldn't have to view the source of the page on the front-end in order to see the version of Wordpress that's being used on the site.

Thank you.Where can I get this information?
