I would not usually advise on programs but due to nature of this not being a Wordpress issue try and install MAMP it's also free and does not come with this issue asi think we could be trying various fixes to the make xampp allow Wordpress to complete auto install of plugins and images. | |

Mar 23, 2017 at 1:01 | comment | added | HappyHands31 | A couple things - Following in the instructions in your second link, using the terminal to open the httpd.conf document gave me an 'invalid option' error: i.imgur.com/m8oddcd.png. So then just opening the file manually with a text editor and searching for 'nobody' returned no results. I think I see where the article is talking about User and Group, though, (line 173 in my file) - they were both automatically set to 'daemon' (not 'nobody'). So then I changed them to 'mylocalusername' and 'nogroup'. I saved and closed the httpd.conf file, stopped Apache from Control panel and tried to | |

You need to change the permissions this will let you download and install without the FTP or manually adding plugins. I have updated the above the reflect the issue that will help you to fix this. | |

XAMPP is clearly in my Applications folder i.imgur.com/TdBRDHc.jpg, but when I try and cd into Desktop/Applications/XAMPP, I get "no such file or directory" imgur.com/a/e9JUz. | |
