The code in my approach comes from unstick_post . The issue is, when using unstick_post , you are calling get_option( 'sticky_posts' ) for every post if you need to unstick more than one post. So my method is a bit faster than calling unstick_post on every post

In the meantime i found a plugin (el.wordpress.org/plugins/expire-sticky-posts) which use the unstick_post function with the filter the_title. I would like your opinion about this approach. | |
