Problem Problems in creating a static site with wpWordPress

I want to create a static site,a normal company brochure site.I I created a page called 'home '"HOME" and I was able to go tochange the reading settings->readings Front Page I selected 'home' to static, and select "HOME" from the drop down box.Now I I then created a page named 'about"ABOUT-us',itUS". It appears in the main menu  ,when but when I click on it I get errora 404 and I wanterror. I also need to havecreate an page called "ADVANTAGES", with sub pages like Advantages menu and drop down menus like advantage a,advantage b(e.g. Advantage-A,on clicking on each will render advantage Advantage-a pageB, etc.How). How can I do this ???

I am newnew to wp,IWP. I've tried blogingblogging and its pretty fine,In case any one can. Can anyone suggest me a tutorial or book for this it will? It would be a great help.I I Googled but every thing went toit in vain,no it was no big help.
