Sure, but the client isn't a programmer and needs to be able to manage it from WordPress. I appreciate your help, it really was a great answer, but the question did say "What would need to happen is at the time of rewrite, it pulls the {venue-suburb} based on the {venue-name} or id and rewrites the url with that information in it."

Because I would have to rewrite the function that creates the venues to associate it to the new suburb taxonomy and the function that creates the venue custom post type is held within a plugin so the "register_post_type( 'venue'" is more difficult to modify.

I actually got it to work after trying a few things. However, the ID still needs to be in the URL at the end and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. Can you take a look? (Above)

comment Need to add rewrite rule that adds in additional information about the post to url
@MannyFleurmond As fields using the plugin <a href="advancedcustomfields.com">ACF</a>;. They can easily be stored as post metadata if that would solve this issue? I'm not sure how to do taxonomies but I could look into that and implement that as well.

comment Standard permissions for wordpress; Plugin installation asks for FTP credentials
The www-data:www-data worked. I'm not sure why though because I have other websites on the same server that did not require this. Either way, thanks!
