Doesn't work. http://forums.example.com/ and http://www.example.com/ show the home page. And http://forums.example.com/forums/ and http://www.example.com/forums/ show the forums.

I really don't want to use MU for this... so if it's possible I'd like to do it with the htaccess file... Thanks.

Tried that but doesn't do anything. Forums are sill accessed at /forums and the sub domain just acts like a wildcard and doesn't rewrite.

Can you explain what each line is doing (and why I don't need to rewrite the folder to the subdomain). Thanks.

Didn't know this was possible on the public side. Can the same be done with number of posts shown? And can the two be mixed together easily, so for example sort them by date and show 20 items.

comment Custom Comment Types
The difference is comments would be just quick feedback (if feedback at all), they may just be some kind words. Where as critique can only be posted by a certain role and will involve much more content like say a full review. But in hindsight they will be very similar to comments. I like the idea of custom posts as they will allow me to control access etc. Just not sure about linking up a critique to a post as snug as a comment is to a post.

comment Taxonomy.php Not Showing Posts
That sounds silly what if someone doesn't want an archive page? I much prefer creating a page and a custom template with loop. That was one of the coolest things about Custom Post Types.
