comment Installing Google analytics to home page
It worked for a day and then the google analytics javascript code disappeared from the home page. Does changing the background colors prevents the script to appear on the home page? Thanks in advance.

You are right. I changed theme and reinstalled Google Analytics for WordPress but the problem remained. I then deactivated the plugin "WordPress Amazon Associate" which I had installed and it worked fine. Thanks! +1.
