comment How to correctly add JQuery in a WP theme?
I mean jQuery is in WordPress by default, located in the wp-includes folder, so you don't need to use an external source to include the javascript file. You can find all of the libraries included in WordPress in the codex, i updated my answer with a link. Also worth to mention, that jQuery is in no-conflict mode, so instead of $(document).ready(function(){... you should start with jQuery(document).ready(function($){...

comment Disable inline_edit() on edit.php
Yes, the first part of the code(post_row_actions) will remove the Quick edit link, but the actual quick edit div is still hidden in the source code. With the walker class, i simply removed all of the options from the taxonomy terms selector list, so it won't impact your page rendering. So at the end, the quick edit div is still there, but its not "really" there:)

Did you tried to delete the cache after the import? delete_option("{$taxonomy}_children");

comment How to add parameters on add_filter()?
You need to pass the $length in the apply_filter function, not the aff_filter. The 4th parameter of the add_filter indicates how many arguments the function has.

comment Diffrent search templates for different post types
I'm not sure i understand the question correctly, but you can use parameters to filter the search results: yoursite.com/?s=a&post_type=charity will only list charity posts
