Thanks, my main problem however is how to discover which tables are no longer needed. Some of them I can identify because I am familiar with them, however other plugins create tables and I'm not aware of those. I have the same problem with the wp_options table which has become bloated.

How do I write the query that selects all the feed items needed, based on the category the user has selected? I'm with organising the data as suggested, but am struggling to write the query that can get the data required. To recap, the query must use info from both the 2 custom post types and the taxonomy, because it needs to retrieve all feed items (together with feed source info for each item), that are associated (through their feed source) with the selected category.

Is there agreement about how to create the object, should it be via hook or not?

So what is the best practice when a plugin creates a custom post type and enters data into that post type? Should that data be deleted or not? If not, are there any plugins we can use as a guide for implementing the same 'uninstall' button?

Does it make any difference if the db version is stored as a constant instead of a global variable?

Would you also include the admin's css and js files within the /admin folder? Therefore having another /css and /js within /admin?

Make a lot of sense, looks like it will be the ideal solution, will try implementing it and report back, thanks!
