I'm a busy web developer / graphic designer / graphic artist working primarily as a member of an in-house advertising / marketing team in rainy Olympia, Wa.

I received a Bachelor of the Arts from The Evergreen State College in '02 - with a focus in the studio arts, that is, painting, drawing and sculpture.

In the almost 10 years since I graduated, I've gotten deeply into web development and application design. I started in on Flash in 2003, and have been actively studying the fine art of programming since. I am today, a reasonably skilled application developer, focusing mainly on AS3, but have plenty of experience with php / html/ css/ javascript / js frameworks. Additionally I have done a bit of work with c# and am in the midst of learning java, with aims at Android development.

I find writing code to be a consistently challenging and ultimately rewarding experience. When a chunk of codes suddenly clicks into place and works... damn... you feel like a wizard. And when it serves the aims of a beautiful or artistically inspired project - the left and the right come together in a pretty sublime balance of form and function. Wonderful stuff!

I am currently working on personal projects at www.joshbosworth.com and www.bosworth99.com, and am aiming at a Master's Degree in Interaction Design from the Unverstiy of Washington in the fall of 2012.

I only recently joined stackoverflow, but have a long history over at www.actionscript.org.

Want to connect? - hit me up @ the facebooks.

Cheers!

+1 for the Matsuo Basho haiku ;) Thank you - that does help. It's alway cool to introspect a functioning and well structured project. I spent the weekend (well - some of it) going through tutorials, just kind of piecemeal. Got so far as getting the plugin setup and registered with wp, built a new table on activation and a simple form to start inserting data. I've been considering the complete feature set now that I have a plan of action. At any rate your plugin should really help me figure out some of the complexities. Cheers!

Unless anyone has any insight, I think I'm going to dig into a custom plugin build. Still - would love any feedback.

Sorry - I think I was being less than clear (note my update) - I am now using a front-page template, but the loop that I have posted is returning pages instead of posts... That is my situation currently, and the point I want to get cleared up. +1 on the numberposts argument. I missed that.

comment Static files or dynamic WP pages for “static content”?
I had not really considered the point about searching. That's the best reason I've heard yet. It brings up several questions about adding static pages... Considering I'm still going to use netbeans/ dreamweaver/ notepad++ for editing, is it just a copy/paste situation to get static content into WP pages? That seems like... a hassle at best. What about migrating that data from a testing to a live environment? What about internal folder structure in the theme - if i have a ton of content? ...lol... answer what you like, it looks like I have some studying to do. Thanks for the help.
