Works now, thanks. Maybe change $src to $link in your answer under "Uses".

I think you didn't understand what i meant. So i am on the attachment page for image 1, when i click on image 1 it takes me to attachment page of image 2, i click on image 2 it take me to attachment page of image 3 and so on. What i needed is the link to the next image, only the link, your function, using it like this <?php echo $src = wpse145194_get_adjacent_image_link(); ?> outputs <a href="link_to_next_image"><img src="next_image_source"></a>.

I guess it works now, but it's not what i wanted. I wanted to get the link from next_image_link function, which links to another attachment page containing the next image in the gallery. Your function links directly to the image.

Tried <?php echo $src = wpse145194_get_adjacent_image_src(); ?> and <?php echo wpse145194_get_adjacent_image_src(); ?> both output "Array".

Thanks for the answer. Sadly i can't figure out how to use it. I created a snippet (using the code snippet plugin) containing the function and used $src = wpse145194_get_adjacent_image_src(); inside href atribute: <a href="<?php $src = wpse145194_get_adjacent_image_src(); ?>">dddd</a>

comment Sort loop with query in the link
I can't figure it out how to get both orderby and order, but even then the output is the same: domain.tld/?orderby=name&order=asc. I wanted the query to be rewritten to domain.tld/name/asc; but never mind that, you said it's safe to use domain.tld/?orderby=name&order=asc as long as i sanitize the query string, can you show me how i can do that for domain.tld/?orderby=name&order=asc? Thanks for the help so far.

in your code i don't see where i could set the order. What i want is to have buttons for orderby=name&order=asc, orderby=name&order=desc, orderby=date&order=asc, orderby=date&order=desc. I don't want to touch the loop.

With "zend_extension=/usr/lib/php5/20131313/opcache.so" in the php.ini the opcache was disabled. Now i'm using it together with WP Fastest Cache and site loads very fast.
