comment Where is the right place to store custom images?
Such a thing is arbitrary, in my opinion. I would suggest you to go for either wp-content or place them in your theme folder.

comment Is it possible to create an action hook using do_action() within add_action()?
In such a case, anonymous function should do the magic add_action('init', (function(){do_action('i_am_a_hook');}));

Out of curiosity, does it work for you? I mean, the second parameter is supposed to be a callback (just asking, for I get an error)

comment File upload from front-end form (as attachment) not working
So, according to the $_FILES array, you have your file name-d upload_file, albeit in your script you are getting something utterly different $uploadedfile = $_FILES['file'];

comment is_archive() doesn't work on public query var archive pages?
ok, if you are satisfied with the solution a @G. M. came up with, be it, otherwise I am willing to discuss it to get to the root of the problem. Since, I just don't believe that a function, that is supposed to work, does not. If so, just tell me, in which template you use is_archive?

comment Is there an error in get_the_tag_list()?
Actually, never have I had such an issue :-D. (I checked my twentythirteen, it works properly) First thing I would take look at, while not wanting to change the core files, are files of translation, if you do have any. Have a look at my EDIT, I wrote simple function, replacing the comma with spaces, with your custom separator stated inside the function. Be aware that this function replaces this value globally on your site. So, in the weirdest case, you might in the functions file, put yourself a character, e.g. x|x and then replace it through my function.
