comment How do I create a widget that only allows a single instance?
Hi, it's showing null above each widget on the front end. But really, I want to prevent adding more than one widget in the Wordpress back end. Doing var_dump( $this->instance ); in the constructor for the widget also shows null for any/all instances. I've edited the question to clarify.

The first approach is more to my liking, but I tried it and it didn't work. Did you try it yourself out of interest?
