I'm developing both code and my own company Wibergs Web. I live in Skövde, Sweden - and I'm enjoying life even though I haven't seen any polar bears here recently ;-)

comment Modify the .htaccess file
I don't WP itself would overrite it, maybe some plugin would do it. Do you have any cache plugins? (w3 total cache, w3 super cache etc), security plugins (Like WP Better Security etc)

comment Reverse order of events on homepage
Take a look at wordpress.org/support/topic/… (scroll down to last code snippet and there's a solution. I havent tested it myself. and it seems kind of a ugnly workaround, but it seems to be an issue with plugin)

comment Posts Not Paginating
You haved exported from an old site Twenty Twelve theme to an new site with the same theme, but you can't get the widget plugin pagination to work? Maybe the plugin doesn't support newer versions of WP? Have you made sure the pagination plugin shows in a specific area? (settings for the plugin). Is there any template specifically made for the plugin? If it is possible - try to export from old site to a new site with SAME version of WP to see if it's a problem with versioning of WP.

comment How to create custom php script page
Generally speaking there are 2 (good) options in Wordpress: 1) Put in (your) code to execute in the functions.php file of the active theme (located in wp_content/themes/<theme name>/ OR 2) Make a plugin and put your code in the plugin and activate the plugin. I would recommend start reading here... codex.wordpress.org/Functions_File_Explained

You say you could restore the .htaccess over ssh. Couldn't you just change/modifiy the file over ssh ?

comment wp_ prefix changed. What is the way to change so any prefix is understood?
If there are red lines indicating there is a problem - you must know what the actual problem is. Else it's hard to give you feedback on that issue.

Change $table_prefix = 'wp_'; in your wp-config.php file?

comment Confusion about arguments sent to add_image_size
@ialocin - yes of course. open systems usally makes things happen faster. Then there's always a discussion about what is best or not, but that is a whole another discussion that shouldn't take place here :-)

comment Trying to set specific image dimensions and crop with ACF
yes, I COULD do that. But that totally messes up design. I would go for manually enlarging images to a specific size and then upload those images.

Yes. I've tried to upload several images after that as well. But somehow it seemed to be the issue anyway. When I uploaded a new image second time it worked perfectly. THANKS a lot for your feedback!

Ok. Forgive me for being a little vague. I understand that is just which thumbnail that is shown in the preview (and has nothing to with frontend). But not even that works.

Ok. So you're saying it's not possible to create own sizes with ACF ? (It must be one of the sizes in the admin panel?)
