comment Redirect User From Registration Page To CPT (profile page) with custom url
I guess i'm trying to run before i can walk, its been a long long time since i did any coding whatsoever and i seem to have forgotten more than i knew in the first place, the good news is your comment pointed me in the right direction, i scrapped the agent_permalink function and went back to basics, this redirect works, although its a bit long: wp_redirect (home_url('agents/agent-profile/' . ($user_id))); exit;

comment Redirect User From Registration Page To CPT (profile page) with custom url
I can rule out this redirect: wp_redirect ('agent-profile/' . $agent_permalink($user_id)); exit; (error-log says it must be a string), this: wp_redirect (agent_permalink($user_id)); exit; still gives a white page and no error

comment User specified Timezone
Ive marked as answered, i think from what you say i am over engineering this somewhat, it does'nt need to be so complicated, for one the email does not need to show the start time of the mission/quest as any interested party will just click the uri and be taken straight to the post, secondly i could (i'm thinking) have group timezone set on group creation by group creator for example "America/Los_Angeles" and members set their own relevant timezone, eg:America/Winnipeg and use group timezone as base to compare against group members timezones so that each member sees the time in their locale.

comment User specified Timezone
Hi Mark, thanks for the input and your opinion,. I am asking that users set their "normal timezone" as i feel that this would be the best basis to work from. I have seen a working example of this on another site (not a wp one) that when creating an account i set my timezone, then as long as i am logged in everything is returned to my view as being my local time, if i log out and then look at the same thing it will only show the time as set in the posters declared tz. site is the100.io, il leave this post as unanswered for a couple of hours just to garner more opinions and options, thanks again

comment Why isn't is_page working when I put it in the functions.php file?
I dont use id's for page reference but codex shows that the id of the page has no single quotes, have you tried that? is_page(); // When any single Page is being displayed. is_page(42); // When Page 42 (ID) is being displayed. is_page('Contact'); // When the Page with a post_title of "Contact" is being displayed. is_page('about-me'); // When the Page with a post_name (slug) of "about-me" is being displayed. is_page(array(42,'about-me','Contact')); // Returns true when the Pages displayed is either post ID 42. probably not the case but worth a shot

comment Which is the simplest theme for Wordpress to use it as your base?
@chip agreed, after reading the OP's latest comments it does indeed seem he is looking for a lite option rather than using a barebones theme as a launchpad for his project...
