@Rarst would we be talking hooking into something like: add_action('comment_unapproved_to_approved', 'comment_approved');

comment Why isn't is_page working when I put it in the functions.php file?
I dont use id's for page reference but codex shows that the id of the page has no single quotes, have you tried that? is_page(); // When any single Page is being displayed. is_page(42); // When Page 42 (ID) is being displayed. is_page('Contact'); // When the Page with a post_title of "Contact" is being displayed. is_page('about-me'); // When the Page with a post_name (slug) of "about-me" is being displayed. is_page(array(42,'about-me','Contact')); // Returns true when the Pages displayed is either post ID 42. probably not the case but worth a shot

comment Migrate posts into a different category
+1 @ bainternet, but before you actually run the query do two things.. 1) back up database (obvious but you would be amazed how many people dont) and finally 2) always run a SELECT query as a test before running the actual UPDATE query

comment How to Use WordPress as Static CMS Without Blog Posts
In wp-admin you can choose to attach pages to parent pages which will give you a dropdown menu to show your "new child" pages, (see the link above in my answer for how that works with the 2010 theme). this link codex.wordpress.org/Good_Navigation_Links details more about menus and how to use them in wp and also this link codex.wordpress.org/Navigation_Menus take a day to sit down and read them and do some practicing, its all very easy, wordpress manages it all for you .... almost ....
