comment Nav Menu – Add class based on meta keys
@ampt Really? If I write test $classes[] = 'test'; instead of $colorcode, I get "test" on every page menu item. If I do a var_dump(get_post_meta($post->ID, 'color_dropdown', true)); I just get back empty strings. I'm 100% certain that one of the pages have a value assigned to color_dropdown. First I thought it was an issue with the Roots Framework I'm using, but it doesn't seem to be because of that. I'm using Wordpress 3.1.3 if that could impede in someway?

Oh, doh. Was a bit tired when I wrote that. I'm now using the code to create a "shortcut" to a dashboard url. It's a direct link to a submenu item: pastebin.com/q89sAVTi

I wanted to use this code for another project, but I just now realized that using this piece of code, I don't get the "current" class when the link is active (like you do on regular admin menu items). I really need this for a coherent styling in this project. Do you have any ideas?

I just realized that it does work with pages, sorry. BUT the thing is, it only work with the topmost post/page. If you try to change status on the other ones, nothing happens (ajax doesn't fire, check this vid: youtu.be/Q1APmCL6DtE)

Wow, thanks so much for this! Really appreciate that you took your time to do this. I added this to my dev site but it only seems to work with posts and not pages. How do I enable it for both types? (and possibly custom post types).

Maybe this way is better to go: soulsizzle.com/jquery/… But not quite sure how to use it (since I need the menu order to be saved when you press update/save and not on every drag/drop)

@t31os Also please note on line 28 in paste 8yLjdkrq, I've put attachment ID as a placerholder, as I haven't figured out how to get the current menu_order for the attachments.

@t31os I think this is everything that you need to be able to run it on your own install: pastebin.com/8yLjdkrq and pastebin.com/23wU7Qe1 Might have missed something though. Think it's easier for your to be able to test yourself (also good for anyone that wanna do something similar)

comment How do I save metadata for a specific custom post type only?
Hm, I get this warning message Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /ustorage/www/users/qom/vhosts/xxx/xxx/wp-content/themes/ep/functions.php on line 239 on this line: if ($post->post_type == 'mycpt') { when creating an entirely new post. Anything to worry about?

Line 1228 in media.php in wp-admin/includes seems to have the functionality for how sorting natively in WP works. Not sure how to make use of it though..

comment Control attachments menu order with jQuery Sortable
@kaiser Sorry for being a bit vague in my question. I've updated the Q with some more information. I'm not using the regular media uploader. I'm using Uploadify that ties in with the media library, though it works exactly the same as it would with the regular media uploader. So what I need is someway to use the menu order that I create with jQuery Sortable (check this video: youtu.be/zvPnem6ady4) and then save it as a menu_order ID for my different attachments. Am I making any sense?
