comment Custom fields or something else
Simon, your variable $extrait will always be something, so we never came to the else part. If i just echo the $extrait, i always see something.

Thank you for your answer but When I add this option, all the excerpts are changing. I only want to change the excerpts of the top 3 on the frontpage.

I don't understand what you are talking about but I've got a working blog posts index page. I receive the content on the blog post index with the get_content() function and this is working. Only on my index page this will not work I assume because when I type get_content() it will load page content and i need post content. Is this right or am i completely wrong?

Under settings, reading, I have a static frontpage and I also assigned a static page to display the blogposts. (I first create a blank page, and then assigned this page to display blog posts)

Bennet, When you want to retrieve the content from a page you don't use the_content() ? The_content() is only used for content from blogposts? Is this right?

comment <p> tag the_content()
Thanks for your answer. What i'm trying to reach is to add some text together with a featured image. The image must 'wrap' around the text. But with your answer in my head, I think this is fully possible. Isn't it? Thanks!

Thank you for explaining this. I'm going to "copy" the css from the twenty eleven theme :-). I will let you know if everything is done.

Thanks for your answer, I was a little bit confused about the different types of menus you have in wordpress. I think I only have to change some CSS to 'create' my dropdown menu. I do not want an extra menu (secondary menu) so why do I have to change PHP code then. I think I understand it now and this is my conclusion. If you want a dropdown menu (hoover over an item, child item appears in dropdown) you only need to change some css. If you want an extra menu for example a primary menu and a secundary menu, you have to change the php code ect. Can you please tell me if i'm correct?

@TomJNowell I'm just trying to hoover over an item in my main menu. When I do this a submenu shows up but I think it's only a matter of css because in wordpress you can make parent pages. Isn't it? And when you want to make a second menu, you can use the code above? But why would I make it so difficult?

@TomJNowell My main menu is fully working. It is just my submenu that is not working and I dont know if i did the right things (see above) to get it working. In my view that is not the right solution because a dropdown menu is not a secondary menu?

@TomJNowell I have a workig nav menu and i want to create a dropdown menu. Above you see the things I already did. My question now is. Were this the right steps to create a dropdown menu? Is there something else i have to do or is just a matter of css now?
