Thanks, but already eliminated that as a possibility. The sub site will have unique menus, galleries and multiple pages.. also a unique template. A separate site seems most logical at the moment. (if it were a single page i'd do just that)

@brasofilo yup I did open a forum there too(i think after you suggested), but did here first b/c i am new to wordpress and like the stack overflow community. I guess this forum isn't that popular yet.. worth a shot, thanks!

@brasofilo Yes we've diagnosed the core files. the MU has about 60 other sites on it that all function fine so we have to be hesitant to cntrl+ alt+ delete on anything. Not sure if this ebook will help since it's targeting beginners but i'll give it a shot, thanks

I must have been ambiguous. This is a plugin, put it in your plugins folder, then there's an multidimensional array where you add/alter the items and styles you wish to show up in the tinyMCE editor. The only addition/ change i made was listed in the original post. The result was also mentioned: i can get the code to wrap each item (for instance, each li) in the class, but what i was hoping to do was wrap the entire selection in a div. Since the result is in your wordpress install in the edit post/page section it's a little more than copy/paste...

I put the relevant code in here already; however, i'll put the rest of the array from the plugin in there now. Thanks for the feedback
