And yup, I'm aware of all the post types and that they all share the same ID index track.

Really stupid, because it's a plugin bug, but another plugin is somehow tracking a separate index. Yes, it's horrific that the plugin is not pulling it's ID for association directly from the post itself, but that's what I'm up against and looking for the path of least resistance.

comment How to find the origin of a file upload from within wp_handle_upload?
Thanks for this Jason, I'm really interested in doing the same but when I log out $_REQUEST I'm getting empty in my logs. Do you know if this is still working with the latest version (4.0 at the time of this writing) of WordPress?

comment Is it Possible to Extend WP Customize JS Methods?
In theory, that makes sense - suggestion appreciated. In my case, I felt that this approach was pretty hacky and managed to come up with another suitable solution for my use case. However, an answer with working code may still be of use to someone who has no other option for their use case. Performance with what I was planning would have been awful anyway.

Did you check your browser console? I'm getting Application Error: There was a problem getting data for the application you requested. The application may not be valid, or there may be a temporary glitch. Please try again later. Could be a bad plugin.
