comment Page with children of different post types
core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/18962 This is to prevent 'structure_parent/cpt' from a custom post type from clashing with the hierarchical page 'structure_parent/cpt'. However, what you are seeking to do seems like a poor information architecture - mixing custom post types with pages under the same parent. What is the point of the custom post type? Why not just use pages w/ meta boxes if you need specific content?

comment Handling complex multi-level architecture / menu for large site
A section is made up of hierarchically structured pages, custom links, and random other posts ( from various post types ). Not a great IA structure, but a legacy one we are working on fixing - slowly. Again, the actual form makes no difference - we can put / structure / style this in any way with native functions, queries, and css. What is still "wishy washy" exactly?

comment Handling complex multi-level architecture / menu for large site
@TomJNowell - this is a two year old post, but I'll be glad to elaborate as the "problem" still exists. The issue, as stated in the question, is how to handle complex site architecture and relationships in Wordpress. The context of where the menu resides is besides the point. I was hoping for a definitive answer of how to cluster different post objects in WP into sections and menus, with only a slight reliance on hierarchy within a post type. The best solution might be to use Posts 2 Posts - manually creating relationships between "posts" and turning those relationships into "menus".

comment How to remove_menu_page added by a plugin that appears to have no referenceable slug
Did you try using 'tf_slider_list' as the arg for remove_menu_page()? To clarify, you need to examine the 'add_menu' function in the plugin to get the slug, but I believe it should be 'tf_slider_list'.

Of course - you can write the hook function in a plugin.

If you really need to get rid of the larger image, take a look at function bulk_resize_handle_upload in plugins.svn.wordpress.org/bulk-resize-media/trunk/…

markcbain - if using the WP 3+ menus, how would you associate a particular menu with a particular parent?

How would you accomplish this? 1-3? Or something I haven't thought of?
