comment WordPress Multisite - is this possible?
Thanks for the answer, when you say " Your theme however would be exactly the same for each site so you couldn't modify a theme for an individual one (they are at the base of the multisite not on each site)." does this include individual theme options? I assume these would have a new database table for each site? I will be building the theme so I can move any parts I need to change in to a theme option that is stored in the database.

Ah, yes - it seems to be to do with the ID being the same :) - looks like it's working now. Going to do some more testing to make sure it's robust.

Tried on a server - no PHP error at all but won't load the page (cuts off loading at header).

Currently using the default 2012 theme with no plugins - debugging still results in a browser error rather than a PHP error - perhaps I'll try on a server.

Unfortunately I get the same error with that :/ Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.

It was yesterday and I haven't version controlled this but I believe it was $finaloutput = $title . do_shortcode ($postcontent); I also tried putting the do_shortcode into it's own variable so $shortcodeoutput = do_shortcode ($postcontent);

comment Adding a custom admin page
Solved! for anyone else try add_submenu_page and just add the extra parameter for parent slug, as outlined here: codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_submenu_page

Ive tried 'show_in_menu' in the custom post type but this then has a menu which doesn't show the page and doesn't show "add new" for the custom post type either.

Just tried this and looks awesome but is there any way to have this in the submenu from my custom post type? as opposed to it being a menu for itself.
