get_term_link not working Thanks for the help. It turns out the plugin (Advanced Custom Fields) that I'm using to save and return the ID has a bug that is causing this. So my code above will work once that bug is fixed. I'll mark this as the answer though, as it's a good troubleshooting process for others. |

Setting featured image with function, 1 part not working I see. I've never structured my conditionals like that, but I guess it makes sense to not have to call it twice. I'll go ahead and change it. Thanks for the advice! |

Setting featured image with function, 1 part not working Thanks, that makes sense. I have updated the question with my current code based on your answer. But it's still not setting the first image as the featured image for some reason. |

Setting featured image with function, 1 part not working Some more context: Each custom field outputs the ID of an image. I've double checked that this it the case. Also, 'create_gallery' retrieves two values, 'upload_image' and 'image_caption'. I am using the plugin Advanced Custom Fields to loop through this data to allow my users to create galleries of images/captions. I just want to the first image in the table to be the featured image. |

Get date of last update outside of loop Thanks. The 2nd code block is more what I'm looking for. |

Get count of custom post type created by current user Hmmm, still not doing it. Is there a better method than this? I literally copied and pasted the first snippet from another answer, so I'm open to alternative ideas if you have them. |
