That's a great answer for the "average Joe". Simple but a very helpful tutorial. I have lost count of the number of times you helped me out here. Thanks a lot. I use this to filter out some metaboxes in the edit post admin page by means of the "Order bender" plugin and with get_taxonomy() , as you suggested, the plugin will no longer display all the metaboxes, only those I need.

I followed your instructions and got rid of the foreach and put all the code in the loop but still get only the one author for all posts. I am calling the code in a template after the posts loop in a single.php template. Could that cause the problem?

You are right about the foreach, that was some old code I hadn't cleaned up. I removed the foreach and put everything inside the while loop, but the result is exactly the same. I am not sure I understand what ID should be echoed? The author ID? print_r($ids); gets all the correct post IDs.

comment Comments orderby comment date not working
Every user who is logged in has a front-end page where he can see all comments which are replies to comments the user has made himself. The replies the user himself has made to his own comments are also included. These comments are successfully collected inside $comments thanks to the 'parent' => (int)$parent_comment_id argument but this also results in the iteration of $comments ordering the comment replies after the ID of the parent comment. I somehow need to rearrange $comments or alter the sorting of the last foreach loop. I thought it should be quite trivial, but maybe I am wrong.

Thanks, but how can we then at all be able to query for replies to the current user if we do not first query for parent comments to find those children that are replies to the current users comments?
