Only thing I can think of is that the post isn't ready yet in that action

comment Create custom post type just like a page post_type
Sounds like those custome meta boxes are set to just pages. The only way to get them to show up on other post types would be to edit the code that creates them

I this in the admin or on the front end. Also, this code should be in an action, either admin_init on the admin side or wp_enqueue_scripts if its on the front end. See codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_enqueue_script

comment Get closest event where meta_key field is an array
If the timestamps were like 2015-2-15, you could do a LIKE query

comment Fetch User Meta Data
You are trying to get users where the meta_value is both a specific number and zero, which isn't possible. Did you mean OR?

comment How to get the page slug of the current archive page for a custom taxonomy
I recommend that you dome some research into template file hierarchy: codex.wordpress.org/… . Although my answer worked, how you are doing your template would be easier if you let WordPress handle the taxonomy stuff and use the main loop.

You don't need a custom query for that. All you would have to do is create a new template file with the name of taxonomy-event-categories.php and you can use the main loop instead of creating your own. I'd also rename your taxonomy to event_categories since having the dashes in the taxonomy name may cause issues when you do create an archive page

Is there any reason you are creating a custom query?

What do you mean by the page slug? If the page is for a category, it'd have multiple posts on there. Are you looking for the taxonomy term slug?

comment WordPress doesn't remember my custom rewrite rule
Having flush_rewrite_rules in init is a bad idea and will probably slow down your site. You only need to call it once, preferably during the activation of a plugin.
