Got the info from a similar question I asked a while ago: wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/8357/… . Had the same problem of modifying a taxonomy and it not being reflected on the tax page.

If you delete the option, WordPress will recreate it the next time it calls for the Taxonomy. Might be an alternate solution.

it should be terms not term in the tax query. Edited my answer to show this. This is probably why you are getting 0 = 1

Just noticed: you said that the taxonomy was a category but the query above is looking for a post tag. Which one is it supposed to be?

@kaiser There is a similar action for taxonomies called registered_taxonomy so it could also be done for those. I was thinking that if you did this for a plugin where the slug was changeable, all you had to do was unset the post type from the array and this would automatically get called again

@toscho Nice. Will this flush all rewrite rules or just those of that post type? will this effect those created by add_rewrite_rule? BTW love getting these little nuggets of knowledge like this)
