Like a growing number of users in the SO and SE communities, I am no longer interested in the forums as they are currently being moderated. I will rarely, if ever, be checking this account, so if you need to contact me, send email to stackoverflow@techbuddy.us.

comment WP CRON on shared hosting that does not allow loopback connections?
@Bill: curl is not a PHP script; it is a stand-alone executable. On many systems curl lives in /usr/bin/curl and that is what you should use for the fully-qualified command path.

comment Is fopen() forbidden in WP?
To expand on Chip's answer, make sure that the directory you are writing to (which wasn't specified) has write permissions for the server. A quick test is to specify /tmp/testfile.txt for your file and see if that works -- it probably will.

comment Replicating the_editor (Media Bar, TinyMCE, Visual/HTML Tabs) functionality without a huge rewrite
Always a good idea. Most people don't have the ability/motivation to "make it worth his while" so I heartily support your doing this.

comment Hosting plugin with excanvas (dependency of flot, jqPlot and more) in official repository?
I would say yes, but WP.org seems to be a bit anal on GPLv2-and-only-GPLv2. It's like they can't be bothered to understand that there are OSS licenses that are more free than what the FSF promotes.

comment Creating a default Custom Post Template that a Theme can override
@saalon: Yes. The override logic is the same as child themes, except you are adding the final fallback option of having it in the plugin's directory.

comment Custom WordPress Installation
@user3334: Perhaps I misunderstood you, but it sounded like you wanted to preconfigure a WP installation (with posts, plugins, themes, etc.) and then use that as a basis for doing a series of 'new' installs. Using BB allows you to snapshot the install and then re-install it elsewhere with changes to DB, domain, and the like.

comment Am I allowed to license my Wordpress theme under the aGPL
@kaiser: Agreed. Although I've only been hanging around WP for about 6 months, I've noticed a disturbing similarity between how some people refer to "Matt" and how Scientologists refer to "Ron" or "LRH". Matt did some good work and is very powerful within the world of WP, but he's not God.
