My name is Jan Beck and I am a Berlin-based web designer and developer.

7 years of creating websites for companies, social organisations, artists, shops, bloggers and fellow designers have tought me a broad view of the digital world. I have extensive skills in WordPress and front-end development and like to follow new developments in the web design world.

I'm a strong advocate of user-centric design, progressive enhancement and open technologies. I believe the web should be for everyone.

Would have suggested you try jQuery(window).trigger( 'unload.wp-heartbeat' ) but strangely that does nothing. Perhaps you can workout why?

You will need to hook into pre_get_posts, get the list of post IDs of all custom posts with that keyword, then change the original query to include a meta query for the list of post IDs in the meta field. The ACF documentation has an article about it advancedcustomfields.com/resources/querying-relationship-fields. If all of this sounds like gibberish to you, let me know, and I'll add a more detailed answer.

You have to write the name of the shortcode, like [myshortcode], into a text widget.

What you describe is exactly how the ACF relationship field should behave by default. You enter a post title, not ID for search. advancedcustomfields.com/resources/relationship

Glad you figured it out. [0] is indeed the first index of the array that contains the direct URL to the image. I ran the code in my dev environment and notices that get_post_gallery needs a second parameter set to false otherwise it will not return an array but html of the gallery. I edited the original answer to reflect that.

I'm a nut and actually forgot to include image_url. Sorry for that. I have updated the answer. Note that wp_get_attachment_image_src returns an array that contains the url, width, height and "boolean: true if $url is a resized image, false if it is the original or if no image is available."
