@cybmeta That helps. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

comment admin-ajax.php is slow
@cybmeta Testing it without ACF actually did make a difference. admin-ajax.php loaded faster clocking in at around 1-2 seconds on average, and sometimes even lower than 1. This is a significant improvement but I'm not sure what I can do to replace the ACF functions. How can I grab the specific fields I need without using ACF? I'm just really comfortable with this plugin and I haven't ventured out much.

@cybmeta Yeah, that's what has me so confused. I haven't tried it without ACF but I'm not sure why that would make any difference. I thought maybe there was a way to cache admin-ajax.php but couldn't find a way.

@Tom I added the PHP. I haven't used WP Rest API before but I'll take a look.

comment Get list of body classes for X page?
@Pieter It's kind of a silly reason. I'm loading in content from other pages via Ajax and the body class remains the same because that part doesn't change. So I just want to replace the body classes when a certain page is loaded.

comment Proper way to load a single post via Ajax?
No, I don't want it to go to another page. I want it to behave exactly like this page but without the hashtag in the URL: themetrust.com/demos/reveal/#partitura

comment Proper way to load a single post via Ajax?
I do have a single page as well as a single-projects page but I don't need those because I'm building a one page site. The posts will only be on the home page so I want them to have the url like this: example.com/title-of-post instead of example.com/projects/title-of-post. I can redirect the latter to the former using htaccess but I'm not sure how I can make the post load using that url (example.com/title-of-post).

comment Custom Post Type URL Rewriting?
This doesn't seem to work for me. My projects posts are still going to example.com/projects/title-of-post. I visited the Permalinks page too. What could be causing this? There aren't any rewrite rules in my htaccess.

comment Remove custom post type slug from URL
@Chris_O Can you elaborate? How would one add the rule to the current rules?
