comment What form element names break wordpress?
Yes, when you submit a form with an element named 'name' or 'year' or 'day', etc you'll get a 404. (maybe only sometimes) I found the answer while trying to respond to Rarst.

I am unsetting $_GET['s'] in some cases, which is why I went thru the string->array->string process. I just want to be sure I'm getting the whole querystring.

parse_str($_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'], $newget); ksort($newget); $str = http_build_query($newget); $name = wp_hash($str); Should normalize the array, yes?

Yeah, but then you wind up breaking plugins, etc that rely on wpautop and wptexturize.

Same result, breaks true or false... I guess that means it's not wpautop...

Wul, whatever I want. I'll figure sth out from there. First I've got to get it to not 404 if we are on a url that I want.

comment pagination /page/2 redirects to home page (domain.com)
I'm only doing a replacement query if($postname == 'home') So that I can use that fact and the info from the 'home' post. Basically, my list of non categorized posts is showing on the home page. I played with this for some hours, I think I wasnt able to get is_front_page() to work with pre_get_posts. I have several other reasons on each page where I need to know if I am at 'home'. I appreciate your time here, and would def quit using a new query if I could figure a couple things out.

Using pre_get_posts doesnt solve the problem in the linked question/answer#7 above, though does it? If I alter the query args before I get the posts, I wont know that I am 'on a page of posts'... because it hasnt gotten the post yet, Or does it?
