I'm a geek, married to a geek, born of a geek. I love working on WordPress sites and finding cool new stuff on the internets.

comment Change sub-menu position of custom taxonomy
Thanks! I ended up using a plugin but I appreciate the answer. Good to know I wasn't going crazy looking for a clean way to handle it. :)

You're right @milo, it was backward. I've updated the code to look for categories with parents. thanks! Hope it works. :)

comment Custom blog setting directs blog to index page
blog.php isn't part of the template hierarchy, which is why your posts are displaying per code in the index.php template. See the links in this answer for more info: wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/149446/…

comment Post does not disappear
If you go into the control panel > Posts, do you see a small link for "Trash" at the top of the list of posts? If so go to that and 'Empty trash' / permanently delete the post. That might be the issue.

comment Adding an existing subfolder site to a fresh multisite in the root, would it cause a problem?
Will your multisite installation be a subfolder installation, or subdomain? I think it would work fine with a subdomain installation.

Try reuploading all the WordPress files, sometimes this can happen if there was a glitch in the original upload.

comment Is there any way to add a “custom field” to the CPT archive page?
Yep you could do that. You might want to buy the cheap "Options" add-on for ACF so you can keep those fields separate.

@AndreaMoro, yes, in the area where it says "show this field group when" select "Taxonomy Term" from the drop down and then either choose the category/tag or just 'all'. I think this tutorial might help with what you're doing: advancedcustomfields.com/resources/tutorials/…
