comment Is there any way to add a “custom field” to the CPT archive page?
I'm not sure how to do this code wise but you could dig through the "WordPress SEO by Yoast" plugin to see how he does it. Or use a plugin like Advanced Custom Fields to add custom fields for your category/archive pages which could then be displayed via your theme.

comment I need to exclude from a query a category and a few custom taxonomies
I'm not sure why the above isn't working but you might want to try using pre_get_posts with a function instead? codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Action_Reference/pre_get_posts

If that's not working, no sorry I don't. Have you tried the Gravity Forms forums? You'd think they'd have incorporated CPTs into the core by now, sheesh.

Ah - yes, agreed, Gravity Forms doesn't do that. I haven't had cause to explore this before but maybe one of these will work for you? premium.wpmudev.org/blog/…

At what point do you need to make edits to the submissions? I've done this with Gravity Forms and it worked for me. You do have to have the upgraded version so you can create posts directly from GF, but then you should be able to create a new post (with categories, custom fields etc) from GF and set its status to 'draft' so you can make edits before publishing.

comment How to add tags to identify custom post types in archives?
By default if you call post_class() in the wrapper for each item in an archive, it will insert the custom post type name of that item as a class. Then you could target anything within that wrapper with custom styles, including the tags. If each custom post type has different associated taxonomies, that's sort of a different question. Is that what you meant?

comment Displaying Gravity Form data on Wordpress page
Alternately you could create a WordPress custom field to store referrer URLs / emails, populate them via hidden Gravity Form fields. Then on your page retrieve the values of the custom field, do a count, display the top 5.

comment How to import CSV into Custom Post Type custom fields?
Also - what plugin did you use to create the custom fields? I've noticed some custom-field-creating plugins prefix the custom field names and it's not obvious when that happens. Makes it hard to match the fields with their contents.

Did you try wordpress.org/plugins/wp-ultimate-csv-importer ? It took some work but that one worked for me.

comment Why can't I add a custom image in my navigation?
I'm not clear on what you're trying to do - do you have a live example we could check out? Are you trying to add a home icon to replace the menu toggle H3? or is it part of your site navigation?
