comment Activating a Theme Options page to Editor - not working
Oh I get it - you will have to allow the Editor to manage_options too, as your template calls the options.php to save the data.

That's okay this way, just be sure your Plugin does not output anything directly.

comment Why won't the Jquery validation plugin work?
Oh sorry, I did read that wrong. You have to check that the plugin does not output anything directly (i suppose you call echo mp_calcs_display();), but to make it available with a shortcode or a filter on the content.

No, I went with the simple solution of just outputting it after the form, as it is not the best thing to do to include a scriptfile containing just 5 lines of code.

ups, saw another thing - if you do not use the s parameter your condition if (!is_admin() && $query->is_search ) is not met, as WordPress does not know this is a search. Try changing that too.

Can you have a look at what query your WordPress runs? <?php echo $GLOBALS['wp_query']->request; ?>

Probably because you have a mix of pretty permalink and $_GET variables. Can you try inserting the $_GET data instead of $query->query_vars? Do not forget to sanitize it if you are going this way :)
