comment Get URL of Post You Are Editing
Did you mean add the link in the admin panel for editing posts? There should be a view post link there already.

The searchform.php is the form, searchpage.php displays the search form. You need a place that will actually display the search results. If you don't have a search.php your index.php will have to decide if it is search results and then display them, which apparently it is not doing. Please post your index.php or find an example search.php from one of the default themes included in Wordpress.

comment Get the post_id of a new post
Robert, if the answer posted doesnt solve your problem can you explain why you would expect something other than an auto incremented response? Did you mean the same post when saved again returns a new ID?

If you found the solution to your problem, go ahead and post the solution as an answer and accept it, or if you think my post clarified what you need you can accept it instead.

Noor, do you think you can get that stuff working on your own then? I haven't found a good front end images plugin for free yet though.

Can you try hard coding one of the author id's like this and let me know what happens: the_author_image(5);

Hmmm I think I need to see more of the functions.php and index.php code to help you out on that one.

Can you provide a sample URL you are using for the Twitter API without personal data, plus the exact code you are attempting the wp_remote_get with?
