comment Overide a function that is inside a plugin
+1 And I would fork the code and send the code back to plugin author to see if they are willing to include it in the main plugin code. This way everyone wins and I am least bothered.

comment is wpdb->replace() already sanitized?
yeah a valid use case. About replace, if you are actually firing your functions when a post is created, then you won't ever have to use replace. No? ;-)

comment is wpdb->replace() already sanitized?
yeah just keep them to minimum. redudancy comes with the extra overhead of keeping multiple copies in sync. Best would be to just store the post ID and nothing else. And even then if you are going to, just update the row. I don't see the need of replacing the row.

Just use a post ID in your custom table, no need to keep the data you already have in another table. This is just redundancy.

comment Can a plugin deactivate itself?
Technically speaking, it can but I don't see why someone would build this functionality.

comment Remote login with only the username not working
I would like to know how you are planning to secure this communication without a password. If you don't even have a password, any communication even HTTPS won't help. So post a update here when you figure this out?

comment Programmatically add widgets to sidebars
Monitor the action parameter of ajax call that is made when a widget is added, and then find the code related to that action ajax hook and see how its done in core. Simple! ;)

comment How to remove these fields from the 'Profile' section?
+1 because as far as I can recall removing fields via PHP also stops WordPress from creating blank entries in the usermeta table.

You are actually making the server on receiving end vulnerable like this, hope this is just an experiment. Ideally you should use XMLRPC API to communicate with other WordPress installs. Write more XMLRPC methods if you need more than the ones available and you are good to go :-)

comment WP 3.3 update disabled editor stylesheet? Or TinyMCE Advanced problem?
Try disabling the plugin once and see if you get the expected behavior. If yes, then the plugin is doing it else WordPress, if only these two have changed since the last time they were working.
